I’ve tried a few aux lights over the years. Including on my yamaha 450, Tenere 700s etc.
I bumped into Ruby Moto at a Mosko Moto rally (dusty lizard) and was very impressed with them.
I already had Thumper Jockey on my 2023 Tenere 700, but I decided to order two sets of R4 lights and install them on my t7s (2021 T7 and 2023 T7). I figured I’d move the Thumper Jockey to my dual sports/dirt bikes as they don’t have the performance nor amber covers.
I got to say that the Ruby lights are LIFE CHANGING! Beyond a game changer!
Pros
- tough housing and larger housing so the lights last longer
- the amber cover is pure genius! I love I can go amber for daylight visiblity AND easily swap the amber for clears at night…and still have a lens cover to reduce damage from a buddy’s roost or when I pass trucks on gravel roads.
- I LOVE that I can wire the aux lights into my high beam switch, which means no extra “junk” on my handle bars and super quick on/off as I need it.
Cons
- I have not experienced any cons. Cry once, buy once!
IMO the aux light is SO critical for my safety! I always high beam left turners and in intersections, but with these r4 in amber, I’m confident cagers see me during the day and night!
I have several buddies that have purchased the R4 Ruby lights for their bikes and its fun to talk about how much we love them! But beyond the cool factor, it gives me a lot of peace of mind…that I won’t have piece of mind with a cager!
